It has just been reported that Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie has been kicked off of the NFC Pro Bowl team, because he missed practice on Friday and Saturday. Personally, I think this is ridiculous.
Can the NFL and Roger Goodell relax a little and realize that nobody, including the players care about the Pro Bowl. Yes, everyone likes to get recognition for having a good season, so they all like to be selected to the Pro Bowl roster but nobody cares about the actual game.
I just think that it is a shame that someone like McKinnie who had a great year is being punished because he missed two practices for a game that does not matter one bit. Can the NFL start to use some common sense when it comes to making decisions. I mean this is a guy who was a major part of a [...]

It has taken me a while to muster up enough strength to write this article after the Vikings devastating loss in the NFC Championship. It was a tough pill to swallow and I will touch on it in this season review, but there were so many better moments in the season I want to get to as well.
So lets start this wild review by getting that awful NFC Championship Game out of the way first. It was one of the most gut wrenching games I have watched and as we all know it ended in disaster. The Vikings dominated every phase of the game, except for the all important turnover battle. The interception heard around the world, as Brett Favre committed quarterback sacrilege by throwing across his body, ripped the hearts out of Vkings’ fans everywhere. It was a terrible way to end the season, but it [...]

Everything that has happened this year in the NFC has built up to the NFC Championship which will take place on Sunday in New Orleans. The game will pit two strong offenses, and two opportune defenses against each other, as the Minnesota Vikings challenge the New Orleans Saints. Coming into the playoffs the numbers pointed to these two teams as the most likely match up; the Saints finished the regular season with a 13-3 record and grabbed home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and the Vikings countered with a very impressive 12-4 record to secure the second seed in the NFC. Some pointed to the Cowboys as a team that could break up this match up and others said it was going to be Cardinals, but both were easily ousted and we are left with the best possible match up. Come game time [...]

On Sunday the Minnesota Vikings will welcome the Dallas Cowboys to the Metrodome to kick off their run at the Super Bowl. On paper the two teams match up very well, and it looks as though this should be the game of the weekend. As always, this game will come down to who can win the major categories of the game, offense, defense, and special teams.
Offense - Cowboys
I give the edge on the offensive side of the ball to the Cowboys, who have been on a roll the past couple of weeks. Tony Romo has the most talent of any quarterback in the NFL, and over the past couple of weeks it looks as though he has finally reached his immense talent. On top of that, Felix Jones has become the most explosive back in the playoffs, surpassing Adrian Peterson. Which brings me to my final reason why I chose [...]

On Monday night the Minnesota Vikings will travel to the ultra famous Soldier Field of Chicago to take on the Chicago Bears. Coming into the season people circled this game on the calendar, as many thought that it could be a game that determined the NFC North winner or at least have some kind of playoff implication.
Well, they could not have been more wrong. The Vikings have flourished so far this season reaching a 11-3 record through week 15. On the complete other spectrum, the Bears have looked out of sync and without inspiration for much of the season and their 5-9 record has earned them a spot in the top three of the most disappointing teams of the year.
During the off-season both the Vikings and Bears added Pro Bowl quarterbacks to their rosters, Brett Favre and Jay Cutler [...]

The word schism has been thrown around about the Minnesota Vikings a couple different times this season. Each time the conflict has involved Brett Favre and the way he goes about his career in the NFL.
The first time I heard the word schism mentioned was when it was reported that the Vikings locker room was split on the decision to bring in Favre. This problem quickly went away when Favre took the field and led the Vikings to six straight wins to start the season.
Then around a week ago, I heard the now infamous word again. This time it was reported that their was a new schism in the Vikings locker room, but this time it was between Favre and head coach Brad Childress. It all started when TV cameras caught a heated exchange between Favre and Childress on the sideline of the Sunday [...]

Everywhere I look I see the Vikings as the number three team in the NFL, only behind the undefeated Colts and Saints. But are the Vikings really that good? After all they were recently dominated by a Arizona Cardinals team, who turned around the next week and were utterly embarrassed on national television by the sub 500 San Francisco 49ers. So, are the Vikings truly the third best team in the NFL?
No, they are close, but as of right now the Vikings don’t deserve to be ranked as high as third. If we were talking about who is having the best season so far, then sure I would definitely have thee the Vikings at third overall. But that it not what power rankings are supposed to be about. Too many people who do power rankings get wrapped up in the teams records and play throughout the [...]
