AFC West 2008 Predictions and Awards
August 5, 2008

Predictions

1. San Diego Chargers

Injuries potentially pose major problems. Still, this team is loaded and this division, unequivocally, is not.

2. Denver Broncos

How many damaged free agents does this team have to sign before realizing they’re setting themselves up for mediocrity?

3. Oakland Raiders

Talent isn’t lacking, but the organization is a mess.

4. Kansas City Chiefs

Roughly half of their starters should be backups. That’s the nature of the rebuilding beast.

Best Offseason Move

The Denver Broncos releasing reprobate Travis Henry.

Worst Offseason Move

Al Davis grossly overpaying veterans Tommy Kelly and Javon Walker, both of whom are coming off major knee injuries.

Biggest Question

Can the Chargers somehow find a way to have everyone healthy in 2008?

Elvis Dumervil is better than luis castillo. denver and oakland should be #1 and #2 pass defenses in AFCW. Broncos have better ( by 2 ) run Defence then Raiders. and i don’t think the Ravens BJ sams is in the AFCW. but for RS i’d pick Sproles

is this supposed 2 be a joke? denver and oakland? hahaha! Antonio Cromartie got 12 ints last year. And thats just one player! Im sorry, but the Chargers are the only decent team in the afc west

The Chargers have a relatively weak QB For The Best Team here. Tomlinson has taken hits for some years now and the average life for a RB is only 3 years. I think his glory days are in the past. Both of these players are prone to injury especially Rivers due to his small size and weak looking body. Defense is facing many troubling injury’s. Denver on the other hand has had a beautiful start in Preseason. Cutler much more muscular and is definately coming into his own poses a great threat. Marshall has great potential. Royal the first round draft pick looks blazing fast and could probably outrun anyone on the chargers team. Both Hall and Young can average 5 yards a carry as seen by stats and are both capable of breaking long runs with breakaway speed. The suprising turnaround on the run stop also this year in preseason was great. allowing only 30 yards a game and 3 per carry against the run. Marlon Mccree SD own safety is now a Bronco adding more to the defense. Its time for shanahan one of the Best coaching records ever to win many games this year

denver has always been the best AFC west Team Except for the past two years as shannahan had a rookie quarterback and was re-building his team. Its obviously been rebuilt. If Denver’s starting players can Beat the Cowboys starting players i think that should mean a lot. durr

nicks right. the broncos have always been the best in the west except for the past 2 years. and of course about half of the strating offnese, was either new to the team or new to the NFL. either way selvin yooung is looking really strrong rihgt now and i think if the broncos beat the chargers in thiat second game. lookout bolts!

Young Looks GREAT.. Another 1000 yard rusher.. im willing to bet he gets over 1500 yards if he stays healthy. Marshall and Royal along with Stokley should open up the running game tremendously
