4-1-One Buccaneers Place

News, Notes and of course…my opinion.

Yesterday, I hope I informed you about the x’s and o’s of the Bucs offense. I just stumbled upon a piece at JoeBucsFan.Com that talks about how each player in the Bucs offense fit’s into this new zone running scheme. It is a MUST-READ. I must confess there is some discussion about the x’s and o’s and none of what I wrote was derived from this piece even though it may sound like it is where I got the idea. I can’t really credit one indivdual source with the information I gathered….just a hodgepodge of stuff. Joe also grabbed a bit of info off of Sirius where Trueblood said they won’t “abandon” their old blocking scheme completely, but will be “mostly” zone-blocking. As I said yesterday, it has been pretty hush-hush.

From the St.Pete Times Forum (a quick rundown of what is there)…. Cady won’t play in the first two preseason games, The Quarterback rotation is set (pretty much what you would expect), Bucs signed P Dirk Johnson to replace injured Josh Bidwell, Quincy Black is a stud.

Josh Johnson will most likely not get a roster spot. Morris said all but so…. the Lakeland Ledger has the rundown. It’s too bad. He has far exceeded expecations during camp, however Morris and Dominik made the mistake of investing a first round pick, lots of money to getting Freeman. Johnson at this point..is MUCH better. Freeman has been awful from all accounts. I hope he gets a good job elsewhere. I would actually go as far as releasing Leftwich (who by PewterReport.Com’s reports…which I can’t really repeat here due to privacy regulations on my membership believes is outperforming McCown by several practices.)

This was just a quick one but make sure you check out the first couple of links. Super Informative.
